Marine Parade · Financial Atlas

"I had been putting off looking at my CPF accounts for years. Not because I didn't care — more that every time I tried, I didn't know where to start and gave up after fifteen minutes. The Financial Atlas course gave me a structure. By week three, I had a folder with everything in it that I've kept updated since."

Bishan · Equity Markets

"My main concern before enrolling was that it would be too basic — that I'd already know most of it. Some parts I did know, but the way the course handled the behavioural section in weeks seven and eight was genuinely useful. It put words to things I had noticed about my own reactions to market movements but hadn't examined clearly."

Tampines · Retirement Drawdown

"I'm fifty-three, my husband is fifty-six. We did the Retirement Drawdown course together and completed the worksheet as a household exercise over week six. The final session with the specialist gave us a chance to ask questions about our specific situation — the kind we hadn't known how to frame before the course."

Toa Payoh · Financial Atlas

"What I appreciated most was how honest the instructor was about the limits of the course. She was clear that the Atlas course doesn't tell you what to do with your money — it helps you see what you have clearly first. That distinction matters. I've done other financial courses that implied a lot more than they could deliver."

Queenstown · Equity Markets

"Nine weeks felt like the right length. I took a course elsewhere a few years ago that tried to cover everything in two weekends — I retained almost nothing. Here, there was time to do the workbook properly and to ask Rajesh questions between sessions. The pacing made the difference."

Ang Mo Kio · Retirement Drawdown

"I'm fifty-eight and plan to stop working at sixty-two. The drawdown worksheet helped me see that the sequence of withdrawals matters more than the total amount — something I hadn't understood before. I left with a written plan I could show my wife and revise as things change."

Three learning journeys

Case Study 01 · Financial Atlas

The situation

A forty-seven year old civil servant had changed jobs three times and held CPF accounts, an SRS account, and two insurance endowments from different periods of her career. She had no single document showing what she held or what it all amounted to.

The course

Over six weeks she completed the Financial Atlas course, working through each type of account systematically. The course structure prompted her to request statements she hadn't retrieved in years, and the worksheet format helped her record the key details in a usable form.

The result

She finished with a folder covering all accounts, including notes on beneficiary designations she had forgotten to update after marriage. She subsequently enrolled in the Retirement Drawdown course two cohorts later.

Case Study 02 · Equity Markets

The situation

A fifty-one year old manager had inherited a portfolio of SGX-listed shares from his father. He did not understand how to read the annual reports, had no clear view of whether the positions made sense to keep, and felt uncomfortable discussing the portfolio with his bank.

The course

The Equity Markets course gave him a working vocabulary for reading company accounts and a framework for thinking about dividend yield and valuation. The small group sessions allowed him to ask specific questions about his actual holdings without embarrassment.

The result

He completed the guided workbook with analysis of his inherited holdings and was able to have a clearer conversation with his own financial adviser than he had managed before. He has continued to review holdings annually using the workbook's structure.

Case Study 03 · Coordinated Retirement Drawdown

The situation

A couple in their late fifties held CPF LIFE policies, an SRS account, private investments, and a rental flat. They were four years from the husband's planned retirement but had no clear picture of how the income from these sources would sequence, or what the tax implications would be.

The course

They attended the Retirement Drawdown course together and treated the household drawdown worksheet as a joint project. The course addressed the SRS withdrawal window and the interaction of CPF LIFE with other income in a way that made the sequencing decision concrete rather than abstract.

The result

Their completed worksheet gave them a working plan for their first five retirement years. The specialist session allowed them to raise a specific question about rental income and CPF interaction that the course materials had flagged as an area requiring individual attention.
